In each section of the Island, the geography reacts differently to the changing seasons in a cycle of three. The Clans call these geographical changes the same names, 'Newleaf', 'Greenleaf', and 'Dryleaf', while their territories are all affected differently.
Newleaf
The season of new plant growth and a good time to have kits.
OceanClan
The rain falls in early newleaf, refilling the rivers and generally bringing life back to the western side of the island. The cats head to the river (or stream) to refresh themselves, with elders and nursery inhabitants getting first priority of entering the waters. Warriors and apprentices share duties in searching for new materials to renovate the dens in the camp, or fishing in preparation for the Newleaf Feast. Their rigorous water training resumes as well. In the middle of Newleaf after the Feast, the cats - divided into two groups - take turns to go on the mass Journey to the islet of the Soul Waters, where they spend the evening thanking and sharing dreams with the Rekkah, honouring lives lost, before returning in the dark hours of the morning.
BreezeClan
Once newleaf hits the rain brings life to the fields; the grass start to instantly flourish into a vivid green, sweeping across the territory. As the lush grasses waste no time in growing, they supply the clan with an abundance of prey. The prey available at this time are often mice, voles, moles, and birds. As the wild flowers grow the warriors of Breezeclan often challenge each other at their skills. Never one to back down, races in newleaf become a time of fun and a time to prove your worth as a warrior.

The flowers are beginning to open, and new plant growth starts. Leaves become more vibrant, and prey can be heard rustling through the undergrowth. The forest begins to come alive during Newleaf. The medicine cat begins to call upon various apprentices in the Clan to help scout the territory for any new medicinal plants growing in; the healer of the Clan will take this time to teach apprentices very basic healing methods, and show them plants that they should never go near.
Toward the middle of newleaf, the entire Clan takes a trip to the Life Oak, where warriors, apprentices, and kits compete and play games, elders tell stories, and queens take a break to relax. In the evening, there are two major climbing competitions: one between warriors, and one between apprentices. The warrior who climbs the highest will be given first choice of fresh-kill (after kits, queens, and apprentices) for a week, and will be given the warmest nest in the warriors' den. The winning apprentice will be given the best nest in their den, and it will be decorated and warmed with moss, feathers, and plants.
After the sun sets, the cats have a feast. Every able cat then sleeps outside the Oak of Life, sharing dreams with their ancestors. This tradition was set to celebrate those who got through the rough Dryleaf, and to honor those who did not make it to see another Newleaf.

CavernClan
In the south of the Island, the territory above the tunnels begins its rejuvenation of plant life along the shore. The ground is often wet from dew and moisture and water begins to seep into the small hole that connects to the medicine cat's water store. Tunneling comes to a halt in early Newleaf as fresh tunnels are more volatile and prone to collapse, and resumes in late Newleaf when there is less water in the soil. This is also the time when CavernClan toms begin claiming the newly appointed queens and trying for kits. Most new apprentices are appointed at this time.
Greenleaf
The season of warmth and the best time to have kits.
OceanClan
With the rivers and streams fully recovered, warriors and apprentices hone their water combat skills more often. Heavy rainfall occurs most often in greenleaf, and sensory guards spend a good portion of their time listening out for signs of flooding. They are also tasked along with the warriors to inspect the camp for possible weaknesses in case of attack or floods; rocks and other assorted debris are brought over to such spots in order to reinforce them. OceanClan hunts a little more land prey during the season to exchange for herbs with WillowClan.
BreezeClan
In the early to mid greenleaf the medicine cat and apprentice are out in the territory searching for as many herbs as they can while they are still available. The warriors begin to work hard in collecting as much prey as possible while the grasses are still green and the water is still flowing. This is the time apprentices more often than not take their test with the clan's deputy.
In to late greenleaf the clan begins to experience signs of dryleaf coming. The sun's heat starts to dry the grasses. The prey is still plentiful, but not as easily found.

WillowClan
Greenleaf is the busiest time for WillowClan. The forest is vibrant as can be, and every cat in the Clan is expected to pull their weight (with the exception of elders). Warriors are expected to train, just like apprentices, in order to keep their bodies strong and healthy in the event that another Clan attacks. Apprentices are required to take one day out of every week to assist the medicine cat in gathering and organizing herbs so the Clan has them. Otherwise, apprentices are busy training. Even kits (those who are at least three moons) have jobs: they are to help clean out nests and put in new bedding to build muscle before they're apprenticed. Kits must also bring meals to elders and patients in the medicine den.
CavernClan
This is the best season for tunneling in CavernClan, and also the time when most queens that were claimed in Newleaf have their kits. The busiest time of year for CavernClan, the female apprentices are busy learning from the queens how to care for newborns. The land above the tunnels has mostly dried but keeps most of its moisture throughout the season. The few pines that are left begin dropping their needles, leaving a thick coat of orange pine needles carpeting the territory, which CavernClan hopes will keep out intruders as their paws are the only ones calloused enough to walk with ease over the sharp edges. Late Greenleaf is the time when they begin collecting water in the shells found along the shore to bring back for the coming season.CavernClan
Dryleaf
The season of drought and plant death, the worst time to have kits.
OceanClan
The rivers and streams shrink a considerable amount during dryleaf, leaving only the smaller breeds of fish to be caught within the shallow waters. Even with this setback, OceanClan is still adequately fed from fishing in the ocean on their side of the island, though the trek back and forth can sap the energy quickly especially for inexperienced youngsters. Warriors and apprentices focus their training on ground tactics, and bring back water in hollow (coconut) husks.
BreezeClan
Dry leaf is the harshest season for the clan, and results in the most deaths. The sun is high rising temperatures to outrageous feats that some clan members struggle with. The water is not as a plentiful, resulting in more fights with Oceanclan. The prey changes as well, much of the small prey becoming thin. The warriors will often go after lizards, and if desperate enough larger prey - although this is dangerous and often a last resort for a starving clan. Breezeclan has found that during Dryleaf, hunting and many other actions are best done at night while the sun is down.
WillowClan
Dryleaf is the harshest time for WillowClan cats. Their home is not giving them many herbs or enough fresh-kill. As such, cats sleep more and less work is expected of them at this time. They are taught to reserve their energy so as to not get sick. Apprentices are mostly trained in hunting, as they can be trained more fighting techniques when it is warmer outside.
CavernClan
This is the time when the male apprentices have the most work to do as they are sent out to make the long journey to collect water from the shore every day as part of their regular duties, as the ground no longer seeps moisture during the time of drought. Most kits born in Greenleaf are preparing to become apprentices at this time, but the tom-kits are not yet allowed out of the tunnels. Many Stone rituals are done in this season, most to ask their ancestors for the water to return soon. The pine needles carpeting their above-ground territory have dried now and are taken back to use for nest building supplies.
